Footprint, the plant fiber solutions manufacturer, unveiled its newest expansion in Mexicali on April 27th, 2022. Boasting 1,268,669 sqft, it is now the largest industrial building in northwestern Mexico. This new facility marks their 4th expansion within the city and translates into a 300 million USD investment that will result in 5,000 jobs.
The ceremony featured Troy Swope and Yoke Chung, CEO and CTO of Footprint; Governor Marina Del Pilar Ávila; Mayor Norma Alicia Bustamante; Secretary of Economy for the State of Baja California, Kurt Honold; and President of GRUMESA, Pablo Charvel.
Troy Swope reiterated the company’s commitment to combat the worldwide excessive use of plastic; and shared their interest in creating a culture to help save the planet.
He finally thanked the authorities and business partners for the support they’ve received and referred to their team in Mexicali as their “Crown Jewels”.
